Randy Harris formerly was Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch International with responsibility for the development of Merrill Lynch’s business in China. Previously he was based in Tokyo as President of Merrill Lynch Japan. He was a lawyer, general counsel and an executive with A.G. Becker and its related financial services companies prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1984. Upon graduation from law school in 1970, Mr. Harris served as an attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Harris retired from Merrill Lynch in 1995 and relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii. He is President and a director of the W.T. Yoshimoto Foundation and its wholly-owned subsidiary, W.T. Yoshimoto Corporation, which is engaged in the commercial property management business in Honolulu. The mission of the Foundation is education and scientific study related to wildlife conservation. In this connection, Mr. Harris represents the Foundation on a committee of the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo, Japan. He has been on the board of the Hawaii State Chapter of the American Red Cross since 2002.
Mr. Harris received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College in 1967 and a Doctor of Law Degree from George Washington University in 1970. He is a member of the bar in Hawaii, New York, Illinois and the District of Columbia.
